Slovenian Atech & Ankora Company Delegation Visits IUS to Foster Future Collaboration
Slovenian company Atech Electronics and its sister company Ankora representatives led by the CEO Mr. Davor Jakulin paid a visit to the International University of Sarajevo on Monday, October 17, 2022. The visit comes in the aftermath of the Arduino Battles, a competition in robotics held at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of University of Sarajevo in which IUS students took part during the weekend of October 14-16, 2022 and scored notable results. Atech and Ankora, were one of the sponsors and organizers of the event and Mr. Jakulin awarded the winning team.
The delegation was welcomed by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Research, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kanita Karađuzović – Hadžiabdić, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tarik Namas, Electrical and Electronics Engineering Program Coordinator and Asst. Prof. Dr. Özge Büyükdağlı, Software Engineering Program Coordinator. Following the Vice-Rector's presentation of the University and its organizational structure, the guests positively reacted to the interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary nature of faculties and study programs offered at IUS. Thus, one of the focal topics discussed was possible cooperation in Metaverse projects which would incorporate Visual Arts and Communication Design, Computer Science Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering study programs.
Following the meeting, the delegation was given a campus tour which included the presentation of the IUS Research and Development Centre and its labs. The guests expressed their satisfaction with the facilities and resources available to IUS students and underlined that such conditions create an array of opportunities for development of their careers in the field of electronics engineering, robotics, mechatronics...etc. This opens the door for collaboration between Atech/Ancora and IUS in future projects and endeavours which includes, internship for students, joint applications for European and Erasmus funding and organization of joint events.
The second part of the visit included a public talk by Atech CEO Mr. Davor Jakulin. An almost packed amphitheatre of interested electrical engineering, software engineering, computer science engineering and students of various other fields proved that there is a huge interest among students to hear about the intelligent solutions that Atech company has been successfully implementing in the last 30 years.
