 Projects -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PROJECT-1:  In this project an industrial device should be drawn with its components; this is called as working drawing. You need to draw  2D parts with their right dimensions including dimension lines (remember to use different layers for dimensions) and any other annotations visible on the drawing. Also, include 3D solid model and isometric drawing of the part.  You will submit both hard copy and soft copy personally to me and explain the drawing details.  Download

Dead line for submission: 30/05/2019

ASSIGNMENT-1: Failure Analysis: For this assignment you need to find failed (broken) metal part, and analyze it in terms of fracture mechanics. This part can be any metal part on your home , on  street or in  industrial areas.  First focus on the fracture mechanism i.e. ductile, brittle or fatigue ( look at surface and broken area to understand mechanism by referring your knowledge from chapter 7 -repeat chapter 7 before writing this assignment). Then, write about possible reason about fracture i.e. due to over loading, environment temperature (DBBT important here) , corrosion, or cyclic loading -which cause fatigue. Include, photo of the metal part  and some background information to your assignment.

Due date : 10/12/2018

Announcement !

Quiz - 2   will be held on   19/12/2018  at 9 :00-10:00  AM.

Included chapters for the quiz-2:  Chapter 7, 8 and 9. pay attention to homework questions.
