Course Objectives The objective of the unit is to prepare a schematic and developed design for complex public building project with an emphasis on interrelationships of spaces and specialist functions, including, public interface, public assembly and functional performance. On successful completion of this unit of study students will develop concepts to justify a design with references to an urban site as well as strategies for public buildings.

Learning Outcomes After successful  completion of the course, the student will be able to:
  1. Justify a design with references to an urban site
  2. Develop strategies for public buildings
  3. Identify functional needs and uses of public buildings
  4. Create design solutions to be suitable in an existing building fabric
  5. Illustrate designs and ideas graphically and verbally.
Teaching Methods Weekly studio‐based lectures (6 hours per week). The students will work with the teacher on the assigned design task. The teacher will take a part as project manager, learner‐centered and interactive/participative methods will be emphasized throughout the studio. Incomplete project will not be considered for final presentation.
