Two FENS Professors Named Among the World’s Top 2% Most-Cited Scientists for the Third Consecutive Year

Professor Emeritus Dr. Asif Šabanović and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Benjamin Duraković of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (FENS) at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) have been recognized among the world’s top 2% most-cited scientists for the third consecutive year in the Stanford/Elsevier list.

Their continued inclusion highlights the influence of their research within the international scientific community and the sustained contribution of IUS academics to their respective fields.

The Stanford/Elsevier list draws on standardized citation indicators from the Scopus database to assess researchers’ scientific impact across a broad range of disciplines. Its methodology considers several citation measures and accounts for researchers’ authorship roles, providing a comprehensive view of how their work is cited by other scholars.

Recognition over three consecutive years demonstrates the continuing relevance of the two professors’ research. It also strengthens the international visibility of FENS and IUS, reflecting the University’s commitment to supporting research that contributes to scientific knowledge and reaches audiences beyond its campus.

IUS and FENS extend their sincere congratulations to Professor Emeritus Dr. Asif Šabanović and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Benjamin Duraković on this achievement and wish them continued success in their scientific work.
