IUS Architecture Students Visit City Pool Construction Site in Zenica
On Monday, June 2, 2025, the Architecture (ARCH) study program at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) organized a field trip to the construction site of the city pool in Zenica. The excursion was specially arranged for students enrolled in the Advanced Building Construction course, taught by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Obralić.
The construction site, managed by Almy d.o.o., provided students with a unique opportunity to witness firsthand the practical application of the concepts they study in class. Company engineers welcomed the IUS group on-site, offering a detailed presentation of the project’s background, design process, technical solutions, and various construction phases currently underway.
This visit allowed students to observe the workflow of an active construction site, better understand material usage and structural elements, and engage in direct discussions with professionals involved in the project. The experience helped bridge the gap between theory and practice, reinforcing the importance of site visits in architectural education.
Such field trips are a vital part of the ARCH program, aimed at preparing future architects not only to design but to understand how those designs are brought to life on-site.
