IUS Launches “European Cybersecurity for Bosnia and Herzegovina” (ECS4BIH) Project under Jean Monnet Module
The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) has proudly launched the European Cybersecurity for Bosnia and Herzegovina (ECS4BIH) project, implemented within the Jean Monnet Module framework. The project is coordinated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Amal Mersni from the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (FENS).
The ECS4BIH Project is co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Programme (Jean Monnet Actions), highlighting IUS’s continued contribution to advancing EU-focused research, education, and innovation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The project is designed to transfer knowledge on European Union cybersecurity strategies, principles, frameworks, policies, and best practices - and their relevance to Bosnia and Herzegovina, through semester-long, English-taught courses and targeted events that bring together universities, governmental and non-governmental organizations, industry, and policy actors. It advances research in European cybersecurity to contribute to European Union studies, supports knowledge exchange across education, research, and policymaking, and raises public awareness through lectures delivered in English and Bosnian. Project outputs will be disseminated via academic journals, an edited book and traditional and social media.
“We will deliver European Union cybersecurity as practical learning, research evidence, and public dialogue in Bosnia and Herzegovina so that institutions and the public can apply best practices across policy and operations, aligned with European frameworks, standards, and guidance,” said Dr. Amal Mersni, Project Coordinator.
