GBE Master Students Publish Research Article in Current Research in Structural Biology (Elsevier)

The Genetics and Bioengineering (GBE) Master students from the course BIO501 – Advanced Molecular Biology, together with Dr. Altijana Hromić-Jahjefendić and Dr. Muhamed Adilović, have achieved an important scientific milestone. In collaboration with Dr. Vladimir Uversky, a renowned expert in protein biophysics, the team jointly published a research article in the prestigious Elsevier journal Current Research in Structural Biology.

The article, titled “Looking at Bacterial Cell Poles from a Liquid–liquid Phase Separation of Intrinsically Disordered Proteins Perspective,” explores an innovative view on bacterial cell organization through the lens of protein phase separation and intrinsically disordered proteins - an emerging field with broad implications in structural biology.

This achievement showcases the exceptional dedication and continuous growth of our GBE Master students. Publishing in a reputable journal during their studies reflects the strong mentorship within the study program and the value of ongoing collaboration with international experts. Such accomplishments not only strengthen the scientific profile of GBE program but also open important academic and professional opportunities for our students.

The International University of Sarajevo congratulates the students and faculty involved for this outstanding accomplishment, which continues to elevate the visibility and impact of GBE research at IUS.
