Inspiring Future Coders: CoderDojo Summer School Begins at IUS

The CoderDojo Summer School for Programming, organized by Bit Alliance in cooperation with the International University of Sarajevo (IUS), was officially launched on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at the IUS campus.

The event opened with a welcoming speech by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tarik Namas, IUS Vice-Rector for Academic Activities and Student Affairs, who addressed the participants and their parents. The attendees were also welcomed by Mr. Damir Maglajlić, Executive Director of Bit Alliance. At the end of the ceremony, volunteer mentors introduced themselves and presented the summer school program.

CoderDojo Summer School for Programming is a free initiative aimed at providing primary and secondary school students with the opportunity to learn programming and develop IT skills. The program is based on the belief that understanding programming languages is becoming increasingly essential in today's digital world, and that early adolescence is the ideal time to start learning these skills. Over the years, more than 38,000 children have participated in CoderDojo workshops across over 60 countries worldwide.

Through this program, young learners are introduced to programming, website and app development, game creation, and the use of technology in a creative and informal learning environment.

The CoderDojo at IUS will take place from July 14 to 31, 2025.
